The second largest producer of coffee, Colombia exports the standard washed mild
against which Central American producers must compare. This standard has recently suffered due to weather abnormalities.
Other political problems such as leftist rebel attacks and consistent labor disturbances cause occasional disruptions
as well. The last great barrier to doing business in Colombia is its tremendously complex internal coffee bureaucracy
that can and does change the rules of the export game overnight. All of that said, Colombian coffee is always available
which makes it unique among Central and South American "Mild" producers.
Our concentration in Colombia is on the larger, well-established exporter and on
regions where sound milling practices tend to favor better quality. Our types include:
| European Excelso |
Screen 14/15/16, full body, clean cup |
| Supremo Screen 18 |
Bold bean, full body, clean cup |
| Carmona |
Exceptional body and acidity. Availability limited. |
| Bucaramanga |
Both Excelso and Supremo from this region are superior in both grade and cup. |
